Scope and Contents Note

The Elkin Collection consist of Elkin's own manuscripts for his novels, essays, and plays. Elkin's manuscripts include stages of his drafts on computer disks and hardcopy. Also included in the Collection is extensive general and business correspondence. This includes ca. 5,995 items.

This finding-aid was prepared using the original Elkin Collection finding-aid as a model. Thus, the series were created to mirror the original Elkin Collection series. The material in the various "Material Towards... " sections may have been left over material that goes along with the first accession, or it could be a gathering of information for later publications. We grouped them to mirror the orignal Elkin Collection arrangement.
