Biographical / Historical Note
Anthony Burgess, generally regarded as one of the foremost authors of
twentieth-century fiction, began his writing career in Melaya in the 1950's when he wrote Time for a Tiger
(1956), the first of a trilogy of novels. he also produced more than 28
novels and ten books of non-fiction, as well as several plays,
filmstrips, and translations.
