Collection Scope and Content Note
Scope and Contents Note
The collection consists of correspondence, business and legal
documents and miscellaneous items. The earliest papers relate to the
activities of Robert Wash, 1790-1856, St. Louis lawyer and landowner,
particularly to his efforts to establish his right to land through New
Madrid Claims. A middle group includes items concerning George W. Goode,
1815-1863, and his son Robert W. Goode, both St. Louis lawyers, and
Sarpy Carr Cabanne, St. Louis businessman. Two smaller groups in the
later years covered by the collection and including only a few items
each include legal opinions by Leverett Bell, St. Louis lawyer, 5 items,
and papers of the architectural firm of Link, Rosenheim & Ittner,
St. Louis, ca. 25 items. A misc. section includes an unidentified
photograph, clippings and advertisements, 6 items.
