Scope: Insertion between front cover and title page, in the hand of Ronald Duncan, "The Rape of
Lucretia original & first text printed for the first production at Glyndbourne[sic].
On this text, Britten & I made cuts & revision notes for the revised edition
of the opera which was produced the subsequent year at Glyndbourne[sic], Covent Garden
& Salzburg." Ms. corrections and additions in red and black ink, and pencil, in Ronald
Duncan's hand, on pp. 12-17, Act I scene 1; pp. 24 and 28, scene 2; pp. 30-32, Act II scene 1;
p. 41, Interlude; pp. 42, 44-45, 48-52, 56, Act II scene2. Inserts include ms. laid between
pp. 12 and 13; ts. with ms. revisions between 14 and 15; ts. with ms. revisions between 16 and
17; ts. with ms. revisions between pp. 30 and 31; ts. with ms. addition between pp. 40 and 41;
3 ts., one with ms. revisions between 48 and 49. On p. 51 "see insert B," insert is missing.
