1908-1948. Scrapbook of newspaper and periodical clippings pasted or laid in a commercially
manufactured scrapbook. Subject matter centered in purchase, sales, collecting and care of
rare books, stamps, coins, objects of historical interest, antiques, and art objects.
Included are articles on collectors of above, obituaries of same, notice of estate sales,
accounts of auctions, showings of galleries, museum exhibitions, etc. Compiler probably a
St. Louis resident as many clippings are from the St. Louis
Post-Dispatch and the St. Louis Globe Democrat .
Articles either include publication date or date is autograph noted. Some miscellaneous
articles included in other subject areas -- recipes, news in medicine, certain local events,
etc. Inside cover inscribed in pencil noting items for sale, n.d. Brown board covers, with
design in black. Spine loose. 8 5/8 x 11 ins. c. 30 clippings laid in. 40 pp.
