In the Circuit Court of the term of November 1810.

JosephJoseph by his attorney complains of AugusteAugust Chouteau ,
ChouteauAugust Chouteau , administrator of all and singular the goods and
chattels, rights and credits, which were of St PaulSt Paul Lacroix,
deceased, who died interstate, of a plea of trespass, on
the case for that, whereas the said St PaulSt Paul Lacroix,
his life time to wit, on the fifteenth day of August the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four-teen at the county of Saint CharlesSt Charles , court at the
county of Saint LouisSt Louis aforesaid and within the juris-
diction of this court was indebted to the said JosephJoseph
in the sum of three hundred and seven dollars and
fifty cents lawful money of the United StatesUnited States for
divers, goods, wares,, oil
and tallow, before that sold and delivered
to the said St PaulSt Paul at his special instance and request and
being so indebted be the said, St PaulSt Paul undertook
and then and there faithfully promised to the said
JosephJoseph to pay him the said sum of money when
he should be thereto afterwards requested.

And whereas afterwards, to wit on the day and
year aforesaid at the place aforesaid in consider-
ation that the said JosephJoseph at the like special,
instance and request of the said St PaulSt Paul had before
that time sold, and delivered to the said St PaulSt Paul
divers other goods wares merchandise
furs oil, and tallow, he the said St PaulSt Paul undertook
and then and there faithfully promised the said
JosephJoseph to pay him so much money therefore as
the said last mentioned goods wares merchandise
