Defendant being duly sworn, says that on the fourteenth day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred & seventeen he caused a Subpoena, to Issue, from
the office of the Clerk, of the said circuit court
to the sheriff of the county of St CharlesSt Charles to summon
FrancisFrancis Fencourt, and Reynald Soupard,
as witnesses for, said defendant in the above suit, that the
said sheriff did summon said witnesses, according
to Law. That the said witnesses, are
