The undersigned a jury of inquest over
The body of Othepa Ya ya (or the head) an Indian woman now lying dead in the streets of St LouisSt Louisopposite the house of
Madame Roubideaux upon our oaths do present
and say that she came by her death in consequence
of a wound in the right side of the neck in or near
the jugular vein, given her by an Indian man by
the name of Aske nawa (or the young man) - and belonging
to the Mascoutah - tribe of Indians and are therefore
of opinion that said Indian woman now lying
dead was willfully murdered by said Indian
man.
