The jurors empanelled and sworn to inquire within and for the county aforesaid and upon their oaths present and say that James D. [ Frazier ] of said county upon the twenty fifth day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen at the town of Saint LouisSt Louis in said county without permision from the superintendent of Indian Affairs in and for said Territory did ex-
change one bottle of spiritous liquor commonly called Whiskey, to and with an Indian man of the MissouriMissouri tribe and na-
tion whose name is to the jurors unknown for one medal, and did then and there deliver to said indian the spiritous liquor so exchanged as aforesaid to the evil example of all others in like cares offending against the form of the statute of this Territory in such cases made and provided. and against the peace and dignity of the UnitedUnited States StatesUnited States of AmericaAmerica
