Be it remembered that on the
nineteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and
sixteenJamesJames Ternon, JohnJohn Connolly
ConnollyJohn Connolly and SamuelSamuel SmithSmith have respec
tively contributed in equal sums towards
a voyage up the Mississippi RiverMississippi River for
the
purpose of trading for furs; and
it is expressly stipulated and agreed up-
on by and between all
the parties of these
presents that at the expiration or termi-
nation of the said
expedition and after
a sale of the proceeds of such trade,
the nett proceeds, thereof as well as of
the
profits and all losses are
to be fair
by and equally divided
between the afore
