St LouisSt Louis county vs Luis Beaudain Plaintiff
in this suit complain of John Plabbou
& AntoineAntoine Merchants and
cabbane in trade, drafting in merchandize under the name style & firm of Cabbane &, of a plea of trespass
on the loar- for that whereas the
said Plaintiff to wit on the twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen at St LouisSt Louis in the county
St LouisSt Louis & within the jurisdiction of
this court, at the special appointment
and request of the said Defendants
had agreed to enter into their service &
employment as a trader and had
agreed to go up the MissouriMissouri river and
its dependencies to trade with the Indians
for the said Defendants as their agent- and to continue in such their
service & employment untill the first day of June thereafter - the said Defendants
in consideration thereof promised to
pay to the said Plaintiff therefor three
hundred dollars at the expiration
of the said term of service-

And the said Plaintiff says that afterward,
to wit on the same day & year aforesaid,
in permanance of this said agreement
he intend into the service & employment
of the said Defendants as such trader and proceeded up the MissouriMissouri river
& its dependencies - and carried on trade
& merchandizing the said Defendants
among the Indians there, according to
the directions & instructions of the said
Defendants and continued in their service as such trader, - performing all the
duties incumbent upon him to do and
perform as such trader under the said
agreement, untill the first day of June one thousand eight hundred & sixteen
and untill his term of service was completely
expired &ended- yet the said
Defendants although often requested
have not paid to the said Plaintiff the
said sum of three hundred dollars or
any part thereof- but to pay the same have hitherto wholly refused & still do
refuse to the great damage of the said Plaintiff

And for that whereas the said Defendants
afterwards to wit on the first day of July one thousand eight hundred & seventeen at the place & within the jurisdiction
