This Indenture made and entered into this Thirty
first day of May 1844 between FrancoisFrancois Reviere alias Bacanne
son of
Antonie D. Riviere, deceased, of the first part, and anthony
Ben-
nett, Robert N. MooreRobert N Moore and P. C. Morehead of the second part,
witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars
to
the party of the first part in hand paid by the parties of
the second
part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged
and in the further
consideration of the services of the said
parties of the second part
rendered and to be rendered and
money advanced for expenses all in and
about the investi-
gation of the ascertaining the sueing for and such
other lawful matter pertaining to the recovering of all the property and
rights of
the said party of the first part in the city and county
of
St LouisSt Louis and in the State of MissouriMissouri as heir of his father
and
as heir at law of his grandfather Antoine RiviereAntoine Riviere alias
Bacanne
deceased, hath granted bargained and sold
and by these presents doth
grant, bargain sell, alien and
convey to the said parties of the second
part, one half of all
the property, rights, and interests of the said
party of the
first part as heir of his father and as heir of his grand
father
in the City and County of St LouisCounty of St Louis, MissouriMissouri, and one half
of all the property which has been given or conveyed to
him by his
father in the City and County aforesaid. To
have and to hold the
aforesaid mentioned property, rights,
titles and interests, to the said
parties of the second part,
their heirs & forever,
convenanting to warrant and defend
the same free from the claim or
claims of himself, his heirs,
his wife and all other claiming by
through or under them
