This indenture made and entered into this Thirty first day of Decem

ber, one thousand eight hundered and forty five between CharlesCharles Do

dier of the first part and PhilipPhilip C. Morehead of the second part
witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty dol

lars paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the party
of the first part hath granted, bargained and sold and by there present doth grant,
bargain, and sell, alien and convey to the party of the second part,
his heirs & all the undivided right, claim or interest of the said par

ty of the first part as one of the heirs at law of Antoine RiviereAntoine Riviere
alias BaccaneBaccane Ser decd. in and to a certain tract or parcel of
land in St Louis County MissouriMissouri containing forty arpents lying in
St LouisSt Louis Common Fields originally granted by the Spanish Govern

ment to John BJohn B . BequetteBequette as seen in livre Terrien No 2 page 19
and which was sold by said BequetteBequette to said RiviereRiviere as shown in
Spanish records, No 234 Rondeau's on one side Sangevein alias BequetteBequette
on the other and is now known by United StatesUnited States survey No 1433.
To have and to hold said undivided rights, titles, claims and
interested as one of the heirs aforesaid in and to said described tract
of land to him the said party of the second part his heirs and
assigns forever.
