of William ClarkWilliam Clark late of the County of SaintCounty of Saint Louis
LouisCounty of Saint Louis on the first day of November in the year eighteen hundred and twenty nine
with force and arms at the County of SaintCounty of Saint Louis
LouisCounty of Saint Louis aforesaid with actual violence an as-
sault did make in and upon one WilliamWilliam
a slave of one William GardnerWilliam Gardner then and
there in the peace being with an intention
him the said WilliamWilliam then and there to
kill contrary to the form of the statute in
such case made and provided and
against the peace and dignity of the state
