on the part of the plaintiff deposeth and saith.
I became acquainted with Thomas. L. Smith the plaintiff
in the full of eighteen hundred and thirty two, in the spanish
territory. SmithSmith was then in the employment of & Black=
well and continued with them until he arrived at
Leavenworth some time in January last. He was in their
employ until some time last summer. The business of
and BlackwellBlackwell was hunting and trapping. I was with SmithSmith
the most of the time that he was in the employ of and
BlackwellBlackwell , and did not go any wise near the same region
of country that any of the parties of the American Fur CompanyMissouri Fur Company
were trapping in.
