Robert H. Jones of lawful age being also produced
sworn and examined on the part of the defendant
deposith and Saith-

That in the month of May in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty five he attended
to the taking of depositions in the Territory of ArkansasArkansas,
in a certain suit depending between the former Slaves of Josiah, Ramsay Senior Late of Callaway CountyCallaway County
plaintiff and JonathanJonathan Ramsay ,RamsayJonathan Ramsay defendant- That he took the depositions of Ambrose Huggins, and
his wife, who both Stated on oath, that the wife, of
Said Huggins was the daughter of Thomas PattersonThomas Patterson
who was a subscribing witness to a deed of conveyance
of certain Slaves from said JosiahJosiah , to said
JonathanJonathan Ramsay ,RamsayJonathan Ramsay &,. That said PattersonPatterson died at
the house of said Huggins in the Territory now StateArkansa
ofArkansa ArkansasArkansa,- That [ depponent ] knew Delf a mulatto girl
slave the property of said JosiahJosiah Ramsay Sr ,RamsayJosiah Ramsay Sr and the he never knew any other slave of the same name
belonging to the said JosiahJosiah Ramsay Sr ,RamsayJosiah Ramsay Sr - That said JosiahJosiah Ramsay Sr ,RamsayJosiah Ramsay Sr died some years ago in said
Callaway CountyCallaway County.-
