If the jury believe that the Plaintiff (being a
slave) was sent by his master, living in MissouriMissouri, to the
State ofIllinois IllinoisIllinois or went there with the Consent of his
master and that either by the direction or consent of his
master he was employed in painting, plaistering, and white-
washing the House of his master in IllinoisIllinois remaining there severaldays. he is entitled to his
freedom under the Constitution of that state and this is the
case whether said slave went over and performed said work
voluntarily or not, it all being done either by the direction
and consent of the master
