most Sovereign Lord the KingKing that before the coming
of the foregoing writ on the thirty first day of January last past
RobinRobin alias RobertRobert a black therein mentioned was committed to
the common Gaol and House of Correction at MontrealMontreal in the said Dis-
trict under my custody by virtue of a warrant under the hands and
seals of Charles Blake, James DunlopJames Dunlop and Robert JonesRobert Jones , Esquires, three
of the Justices of our Lord the KingKing assigned to keep the peace within the
said District, which said warrant is in the words following, to writ, - "District

"of the Justices of our Lord the KingKing assigned to keep the peace within the
"said District. - To GeorgeGeorge Sairy, Constable, in the said District and to the
"keeper of the common Gaol and House of Correction at MontrealMontreal in the said
"District. - These are to command you the said Constable in His Majesty's name
âforthwith to convey and deliver into the custody of the said keeper of the said com
" mon Gaol and House of Correction the body of RobinRobin a negro man and slave
âcharged before us with having absented himself from the House of JamesJames Fraser FraserJames Fraser of the
â of Saint MaryMary near the said City of MontrealCity of Montreal the owner, master and proprietor
âof him the said RobinRobin without having obtained the leave or permission and
âthe of the said James FraserJames Fraser his master. And you the said Keeper are hereby
ârequired to receive the said RobinRobin into your custody in the said commonGaol and
âHouse of Correction at MontrealMontreal and him there safely to keep tillthence
âdelivered by the due order of law. Given under our hands and seals this thirty first âday of January in the fortieth year of the Reign of His Magesty King George the

the said District which said last mentioned warrant is in the words and figure
following "JamesJames Dunlap Esq,, one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace to JacobJacob
âKuhn, keeper of HisMajesty's Jail and House of Correction - you are hereby authorized and
ârequired to into the Prison or House of Correction a negro man named RobertRobert
âwho refuses to go home to his owner, and him safely to keep 'till he may be
âdischarged or otherwise dealt with according to Law. Given under my
