If the Jurors believe from the evidence that
the plaintiff was claimed and held in servitude by
WilliamWilliam IsbellIsbell , and that while she was so held and
claimed she with the Knowledge and Consent of said IsbellIsbell
was taken to the State ofIllinois IllinoisIllinois, and there Kept and held in servitude for the space of one year, or longer, - the plaintiff
is entitled to her freedom, and the Jurors will find the issue for the plaintiff.

But if the Jurors believe from the evidence that
the plaintiff was taken to the State ofIllinois IllinoisIllinois, and there
Kept and held as before stated, without the Knowledge or con=
sent of IsbellIsbell , they will find the issue for the defendant.

That if the Jury take any part of the statements
of IsbellIsbell or the defendant, that the whole of their statements
should be taken together, and that the admissions of the
defendant or IsbellIsbell , without other proof is not sufficient to
entitle the plaintiff to recover.
