David McDavid McFoy Foy complains of william BrownBrown
in a plea of trespass for that the said
William BrownWilliam Brown on the 13th day of Decem ber A.D. 1849 at the city & County of st
Louis state of missouri with force and
arms assaulted the said DavidDavid McFoy McFoyDavid McFoy
and him then and there arrested or caused
to be arrested taken and impresoned
and restrained of his liberty and held
or claimed to hold him the said DavidDavid McFoy
McDavid McFoy Foy in servitude as the slave of the
estate of one Thomas F BrownThomas F Brown of which
said estate, he the said William BrownWilliam Brown
claimed to be the administrator against
the law of the land and against the will
of the said David McDavid McFoy Foy and against
the peace, he the said David McDavid McFoy Foy
being as he was being before the time
of his said arrest & imprisonment a
free person and that he was then and
is now a freeman of the state of PennsylvaniaPennsylvania
and that the said William BrownWilliam Brown held &
still holds him the said David McDavid McFoy Foy in
Slavery and thereupon he sues & c
