tiffs in the above petition maketh oath & faith that they
said Scott & Rule have a real and unsatisfied
cause of action against Charles BentCharles Bent the defendant a
in the same cause of action set out in the above pe
tition and amounts to the sum of Six hundred ninety eight
dollars sixty two cents and further that the plaintiffs
will be in danger of losing their debt unless the defendant
be held to bail : that said BentBent is about to leave MissouriMissouri for
MexicoMexico a foreign country (where he has been in the habit of dealing
for several years)without leaving in MissouriMissouri, to the knowledge or be
lief of this affaint, any property or effects, or making any provision
to pay land debt, although payment has been urged upon him
by this affaint recently by request of the owners of the Claim
