How did you know about the story from Washington? Were there congressmen in touch with you? How did you get the information that things were happening?
Yes, we got the information from Congressmen. And we, we steal away and look at the television, and we—Dr. King was a, an avid news person—and we had reporters right there on the scene and they would keep us informed. And he would read every newspaper that was published in the country and we, people had radios, who were a part of the march, and we would stop every night and pitch a tent after having walked about fifteen miles, and we, we—it was just a glorious victory march from Selma to Montgomery.
