Describe for me what you're doing and how you feel when you hear, first hear that Malcolm has been assassinated.

AMIRI BARAKA:

Well, you know, it was, ah, I don't know, I was downtown in some, ah, a book party at a book-store, and, ah, it was a Sunday and, we'd already formed an organization called, ah, Black Arts. And I think, hearing about that, you know, that he had been murdered, um, it just made, the people that I was with resolved to, ah, that we were going to go to Harlem. That we were going to, ah, move.
