Interview with James Bash
QUESTION 24
INTERVIEWER:

WAS THEIR SCHOOL SYSTEM SECOND RATE WHEN YOU WERE THERE?

James Bash:

Well, it was alleged to be second rate. I knew only vaguely the principal of the high school, the black high school, who subsequently came to Charlottesville and became an assistant principal in the Burly High School in Charlottesville. And we talked after we both got to Charlottesville, but I think that the likelihood is quite strong that black education in Prince Edward as well as throughout the state was a little less than white education.
