I lost the word that I wanted President Eisenhower felt let down when Governor Faubus** went back to Arkansas and uh decided against allowing the black children to enter the high school.** And uh, the southern governors who had consulted with President Eisenhower to work out a peaceful solution uh, at Little Rock also felt let down and they supported President Eisenhower when he took the firm position, the only position that was left to him and that was to send in the federal troops to enforce the orders of the Supreme Court uh, in the Brown case.
