Interview with Dr. John O. Brown
QUESTION 10
MADISON DAVIS LACY:

DR. JOHN O. BROWN:

--yes, at that time practically all the professionals were based in what we called Overtown, the handful of doctors that we had, I don't think there were more than two doctors who had practices outside of Overtown. The lawyers were all in Overtown. But then came, what we called urban renewal, which became Black or Negro removal and then the displacement and relocation caused by the expressways. And we were sort of forced out of that area.
