Interview with Dr. Robert Ellis
QUESTION 25
INTERVIEWER:

YOU REALLY THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE VIOLENCE?

Dr. Robert Ellis:

I really did. I, after school first opened, we had a football game in Jackson, I think we were playing Tulane University and at half time the governor made a speech before the assembled people at the football game, in which he urged people to support the position of the state and it was so uh, emotional and so uh, charged that uh, when we read about it in the paper, uh, we, we just knew—those of us on, in the administration—we just knew that, that uh, we were in for some, some real problems.
