And what did you feel about the community that seemed to be the Black people here?

BERNARD LAFAYETTE:

One of the things that, ah, we found that there were people who were just simply out for themselves and they felt they had to fend for themselves. Even the children had to fend for themselves, and there was a sense of hopelessness and, and uncaring, ah, in the whole community.
