WAS IT IMPORTANT THAT HE WAS NOT CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH OTHER GROUPS, THAT HE WAS NEW TO THE COMMUNITY? WAS THAT IMPORTANT?

Rufus Lewis:

That, that was important. Because it wouldn't be out of this group or out of that group, and that group, or this group would figure they had an advantage over the others. But he was a neutral man, a good man. And a man that could do the job, and a man that was not on this side or that side. I think that was the reason.
