And the violence, if there had been violence in Washington that would have provoked them.

MARIAN LOGAN:

Oh yes, certainly, yeah. I don't think there be any way, that the troops or anybody else could have, could have kept it, ah, in a calm situation. Because I think there would have been, Whites fighting Blacks, and Blacks fighting Whites. Because there were a lot more than just non-violent committed people from SCLC. You know, there were people from all over the country then, you know, who came. And they may not be as committed, or were not as committed, probably to the, mission of non-violence.
