And why did you think that was important for people to understand?

ROBERT LUCAS:

Well I, I think it was important for people to understand because I think the important, it was important for people to understand that Blacks were just not going to stand up and just take all kinds of, after being denied all of the, all of the niceties of this society, if you will. That they just weren't prepared to stand up and just be physically abused.
