I think I remember you did write that he didn't think he was prepared though, didn't he?

EDWIN POPE:

No, he didn't train at all. He was, uh--

MADISON DAVIS LACY:

EDWIN POPE:

Ah, Sonny Liston, it was obvious that he wasn't ready. He was out with, ah, different girls every night. He was, ah, he would, ah, put on the, the music of "Night Train" and do a little rope skipping and a little speed bag but, he wasn't sparring much. Ah, everytime somebody would bring it up he would say, "Oh, I'm just going to knock the guy's head off in the first round and shut him up." Um, he spent half of his time walking around the golf course with a little kid he had befriended. Ah, it was quite clear that, ah, he didn't think, ah, Clay was in his class.
