Interview with Amelia Boynton Robinson
QUESTION 20
INTERVIEWER:

I WANT YOU TO TELL ME IF YOU AGREED WITH HIS DECISION TO TURN AROUND.

Amelia Boynton Robinson:

I definitely agreed. Not because of myself because I was not thinking of myself, but I thought of the many people who had been beaten, who had been thrown in jail, whose children were turned out of jail in the coldest of the night to come back. And I felt that those people did not want to lose their lives and their children, and I agreed for the safety of the other people that we should wait until the troops, federal, was federalized, and it was.
