Arthur Shores:

Sid Smeyer, you know who was an outstanding citizen of Birmingham, highly respected, member of the, not only the social elite, but the business community. I recall — I don't recall the exact statement now, but he indicated that uh things had to change here in Birmingham. So, he was one of those who were instrumental in helping to form the Operation New Birmingham.
