Interview with William Simmons
QUESTION 21
INTERVIEWER:

AND SO SPECIFICALLY IN 62, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY THE, WHAT WOULD BE THE INFLUENCE OF THE CITIZENS' COUNCIL?

William Simmons:

I probably would not be well qualified to describe the influence of the Citizens' Council, because it would be like the tree saying how far does the forest reach. Someone with a more objective point of view could do better, but uh, I felt that it was representative of the mainstream of thought of the white community at the time.
