OK, LET ME TAKE YOU BACK TO OLD MISS, UM AND THAT, THE CRISIS THAT OCCURRED IN 1962. UH, WHAT STANDS OUT IN YOUR MIND ABOUT THAT NIGHT OF SEPTEMBER 30th OR OCTOBER 1st IN 62 WHEN JAMES MEREDITH IS ON THE CAMPUS AND UH THESE DISTURBANCES BREAK OUT. YOU KNOW, WERE YOU THERE, WERE YOU WATCHING ON TV, WHERE WERE YOU AND WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION?

When, when the disturbances uh broke out at Old Miss, when Meredith was uh brought in by the U.S. Marshals and the riots broke out I was in the Citizens' Council office in Jackson.
