Interview with Dolores Torres
QUESTION 22
INTERVIEWER:

Generally, during that fall, who were the police protecting from your vantage point?

DOLORES TORRES:

Well, I don't think they were protecting us. We didn't need any protection. I think that they were protecting and they were there on the orders of 110 Livingston and the United Federation of Teachers. We didn't need any protection. From who?

INTERVIEWER:

Once again, but make sure you say the police. Who were the police protecting?

DOLORES TORRES:

They had to be there to protect the teachers. They were not there to protect us. We did not need any protection.

INTERVIEWER:

Again, make sure you say the police. Who were the police protecting?

DOLORES TORRES:

The police there had to have been protecting the teachers. The police were not there to protect us. We didn't need any protection. So they definitely were there to protect the teachers. No teachers got hit. No teachers got ah, ah, ah, arrested. No teachers got charged with, ah, interfering with governmental procedure. It was just the parents.
