Interview with Paul N. Ylvisaker
QUESTION 10
INTERVIEWER:

Your reaction to Black Power the first time you heard it?

PAUL YLVISAKER:

My reaction to Black Power the first time I heard it was, "Whoops, we're changing from what I could easily go with, was the Martin Luther King use of idealism and non-violence, to something that was now going to polarize and produce anger and probably violence." And I, my first reaction was, "I wish it hadn't happened." And then I began to see that on the progression, it was a natural evolution of the movement.

PAUL YLVISAKER:

Oh, OK.
