DAVID ANN IN THOSE MEETINGS, DO YOU REMEMBER HIM? OK, DAVID VANN IN THOSE SESSIONS?

Rev. Andrew Young:

David Vann didn't become a part of the sessions until the final negotiations. And he then represented the business cormnunity and the detailed negotiations. And ah, he was a very reasonable and calm man, who tried then to find a solution. But by that time, Reverend Shuttlesworth was so worked up, ah, that I can remember Fred cussing and David-Vann crying, ah, and it just seemed like when David Vann wanted to settle, Fred wasn't ready to settle.** Ah, and we finally worked that out. But was a… it was a difficult kind of negotiation, all night long.
