Know all men by these presents that we
James Lott as principal and Francis Marsh
as security are held and firmly bound unto
the State of Missouri in the sum of Two
hundred dollars each for the true payment
of which we bind ourselves, our heirs exec-
utors and administrators firmly by these pre-
sents sealed with our seals this 4th day of May 1843

The condition of the above obligation
is such that whereas the County Court of
the County of St. Louis State of Missouri
has this day granted to [ to ] the above named
James Lotta license to reside in the
state of Missouri_ Now if the said James
Lott shall properly demean himself and
be of good behavior during his residence
in the state of Missouri then this obligation
to be null and void otherwise to remain
in full force and virtue
