Know all men by these presents that
I Eli Delaney as principal and N J Eaton
as security are held and firmly bound unto
the State of MifsouriMissouri in the first and full
sum of two hundred Dollars for the true
payment of which said sum of money
we bind ourselves our and each of our
heirs executors administrators and afsignsassigns
jointly and severally firmly by these presents
sealed wit our seals and dated this the
24th day of May in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty three.
The condition of the above obligation
is such that whereas the said Eli Delaney is
about to obtain a license from the county
court of St. Louis County state of MifsouriMissouri
Now if said License should be granted
and the said Eli should continue to be
of good behavior during the contin-
uance of said license within the
meaning of an act of The General
AfsemblyAssembly of the State of MifsouriMissouri
entitled "An act more effectually to
prevent free persons of color from
coming into this state + for other purposes approved 23d
February 1843_ This the above obligation
to be void else to be and remain in
full force and virtue
