We George Mason as principal and Thomas G. Martin
as security acknowledge ourselves bound unto to the
State of Missouri each in the penal sum of Two
hundred dollars for the true payment of which
we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators
firmly by these presents sealed with our seals this
16h day of March 1844
The condition of the above obligation is such
that whereas the County Court of St Louis County
at the March term thereof 1844 granted a
license to the above bound George Mason a
free man of color to remain in the state of
Missouri now if the said George Mason shall
be of good behavior during his residence in
the state of Missouri then this obligation to be
null and void otherwise to remain in full
force and virtue
