Catharine Hardy as principal and John
C Atkinson & Elias B Smith as securities
are held and firmly bound unto the State
of Missouri in sum of two Hundred

Missouri to which payment well
and truly to be made we bind ourselves
firmly by these presents sealed with our
seals and dated this 7th day of June 1844

The condition of this obligation
is such that whereas the said Catharine Hardy

in the state of Missouri as a free Coloured person

Now if the said Catharine Hardy
shall during her residence in said state conduct
herself in a peaceable and orderly manner
and be of good behaviour then this obligation
to be void & of no effect Otherwise to be
and remain in full force and virtue

Catharine her x mark Hardy
