Know all Men by These Presents,
That I William Jewell of the county of Boone and State of Missouri have
fully and voluntarily manumited and sit free and by these presents do fully and voluntarily and set free
my negro man known and called
Manuel, alias Emanuel, alias Manly, of
dark complexion and aged about thir
ty five years: and I do these presents
, discharge and for absolve
said negro from all obligations to per
form service for me in future and
all right and title to him.

In testimony whereof I have here
to set my hand and seal this
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven (1847)

Be it remembered that on this Twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven, personally came into open
court, William Jewell who is person
ally known to the judge of this court to be
the person whose name is subscribed to the
written and forgoing deed of Manumission
or of writing as a party thereto
and as having executed the same and
acknowledged said deed to be his act and deed hand and seal for the purpose therein
mentioned: which was to
and is here done accordingly

In testimony whereof, I hereto subscribe
my name and affix the seal of said circuit court at office in
Columbia on this day and year afor
