Know all Men by These Presents, that
I James M Boyd as principal
and Legrand H Bucker as security are held and firmly
bound unto the State of MifsouriMissouri
in the penal sum of two hundred
Dollars for the [ jugment ] of which
well and truly to be made we
bind ourselves our heirs executioners and
administrators firmly by these presents
Sealed with our seals and [ saled ]
this first day of April AD 1843

Now the condition of this bond is
such that whereas the County CommifsionersCommissioners
Court of the County of Saint Louis and state
of MifsouriMissouri hath this [ Saled ] granted a
license to the above bounden James
M Boyd. to reside and remain in the
State of MifsouriMissouri according to the
law in such case made and
proceeded. And if this said James
M Boyd shall during his residence
in said state be of good behavior
and of peaceable and orderly conduct
then this bond to be void otherwise
to be and remain in full
force virtue and effect
