Know all men by these Presents that we
William N Evans as Principal and
Robert Kyle as security are held and
firmly bound unto the State of MifsouriMissouri in
the sum of Two hundred Dollars each to be well
and truly paid to the said State of MifsouriMissouri to which
we do bind ourselves our heirs executors
and administrators and each and every one of them
jointly by these presents_ Sealed with our Seals
and dated the second day of May A.D. 1843

The Condition of this obligation is such that
Whereas the County Court of St Louis County has this day
granted to the said William N Evans
a free coloured man a license to reside within this
State, Now therefore if the said William N Evans
during his residence within the State of MifsouriMissouri
shall well and truly deport and conduct himself
in an honest moral sober and upright manner
as a good and orderly citizen of said State then this
obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full
force and virtue in Law.
