Know all men by these presents that we
Robert Motts as principal and Absalom
Cox as security are held & firmly bound
unto the State of MifsouriMissouri in the sum
of Four Hundred dollars, that is
to say Robert Motts is bound in the
sum of Two Hundred Dollars_ and
the said Absalom Cox in the sum
of Two Hundred Dollars. The
payment of which well & truly to
be made, we bind ourselves, our
heirs, executors & administrators, and
each & every of them firmly by these
presents. Sealed with our
seals & dated this Fourt day of May AD Eighteen Hundred and Forty three.

The condition of this obliga-
tion is such, that whereas the
County Court of St Louis County has
this day granted to the said Robert
Motts- a license to reside within
the State of MifsouriMissouri ; now if the
said Robert Motts, during his
residence in the said State
of MifsouriMissouri , shall be of good
behaviour, then this obligation
to be void, otherwise to remain
in full force & virtue in law
