Know all men by these presents that we
Wilson Lyons as principal and Rene Paul as
security, both of the city of S Louis in the
State of MifsouriMissouri are held + firmly bound
unto the State of MifsouriMissouri , in the just + full
sum of two hundred Dollars, for the payment
which sum well & truly to be made, we
bind ourselves, heirs & legal representatives

WitnefsWitness our hands + seals this 13th Day of May, 1843.

The conditions of the above obligation is
such that whereas the county court of the county
of St Louis did on the third day of May 1843
grant license to the said Wilson Lyons, to reside
in the State of MifsouriMissouri , under the provisions
of an act entitled "An act more effectually to
prevent free pesons of colour from entering
into this State and for other purposes" approved
February 23. 1843: Now if the said Wilson Lyons
shall be of good behaviour as required by said
act then this bond to be void, otherwise to
remain in full force and virtue
