Know all men by these presents that we Margaret(a
free woman of color) as principal and James Boal
as security both of the City of Saint Louis and State
of Missouri Do Acknowledge Ourselves held and
firmly bound unto the State of Missouri in the sum
of Two Hundred Dollars each and and severally good and lawful Money of
United States, to be paid to the State of Missouri, which
payment well and truly to be made we bind our
selves our heirs executors and administrators, firmly
by these presents Sealed with our Seals_ dated this
Twenty first day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred and forty Three
The Condition of this obligation is such, that if the above bound Margaret-(free woman of colour) shall be
of good behaviour and demean herself in all
respects as a quiet peaceable and orderly so long
as she shall reside in this State; Then This obligation
to be void, otherwide to remain and be in full force
and virtue
