Know all men by these prsents that we Charles_
Anderson as principle and Wm. L. Austin as security are
held and firmly bound unto the State of MifsouriMissouri in
the just and full sum of Two hundred Dollars each
for the true payment of which sum of money we bind
ourselves our heirs our executors administrators and
afsignsassigns .

Jointly and Severally by these presents sealed with
our seals and dated this twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & forty three

The conditions of this obligation is such that
whereas Charles Anderson has this day obtained
from the County Court of Saint Louis County, a license
to Remain in this State as a free person of colour
under the provision of an act entitled an act
more effectually to prevent free persons of colour
from entering into this state and for other purposes
approved 23d February 1843

Now the condition of this bond is such that
if said Charles Anderson be of good behavior
during the continuance of said license be in
full force & virtue
